How we use sources
We prefer primary records: certified election results, Federal Election Commission filings and the Kansas lobbyist directory. For events we rely on news organizations that covered Kansas politics directly, chiefly the Lawrence Journal-World, the Kansas News Service and its partner stations (KCUR, KMUW, Kansas Public Radio), WIBW, KSNT, the Topeka Capital-Journal and the Associated Press. Ballotpedia and Wikipedia are used for compiled facts such as committee lists and result tables, and we check them against other sources where we can. Campaign releases and campaign websites are used only for what a campaign said, and are labeled that way.
The web archive copies of the old campaign site were not used as a source of text, and nothing from them is reproduced.
Current status (as of November 8, 2026)
Paul Davis holds no public office. Since leaving the Kansas House in January 2015 he has practiced law, and he registered as a Statehouse lobbyist in December 2020. The state's 2026 lobbyist directory, covering registrations through June 29, 2026, lists Paul T. Davis of Paul Davis Law Firm, LLC, in Topeka, with about 20 clients. We found no record of him as a candidate in Kansas's 2026 elections. His last race was the 2018 contest for Kansas's 2nd Congressional District.
